Press Release - STATE REP CANDIDATE MCMILLIN ENDORSED BY IFT, FOCUSED ON STUDENT SUCCESS
Today, the McMillin campaign announced that the first-time candidate received the endorsement of the Illinois Federation of Teachers (IFT), a union of over 103,000 dedicated education and public service professionals from cities and towns of every size across Illinois.
Jennifer “Jen” McMillin was one of ninety-nine bipartisan Illinois House candidates endorsed by the organization this week.
The IFT works diligently to advocate for their members, their professions, and public education and services. To help the union determine which candidates for public office hold the shared values and deserve the organization’s support, the IFT uses a transparent, democratic Political Action Committee (PAC) process to make endorsement recommendations for Congress and the Illinois General Assembly.
“As someone who has worked alongside educators, parents, and students my entire career, I am especially grateful to have the support of the Illinois Federation of Teachers. Together, we can ensure the success of every student in the 101st district, focusing on supporting public education and building strong communities.”
Jen McMillin is running to replace Representative Bill Mitchell in the 101st district, which includes Piatt, DeWitt, Macon, Champaign, and McLean counties.
